From Old to Gold Bathroom Renovation
This bathroom was large, but felt dark and dated. For this transformation I wanted to create a luxurious spa-like environment that was as functional as it was beautiful.
When it comes to renovating a bathroom I maximize what’s working and transform what isn’t. For this project I wanted to make better use of the ample space, maintain pipe locations to lower cost and update the finishings to feel fresh and luxe. I started by bumping out the sink wall to create a hall closet in what would become the primary bedroom. This allowed me to design a built-in shelf at the bathroom entry for extra visual interest and storage. I replaced the small, barred window with a bronze-framed, square-style window which is echoed throughout the house and brought more light into the space.
The bulky, 80’s, triangle tub was replaced by an egg-shaped, large, soaker tub, and the rusty, silver hardware was replaced by brushed gold. I completed the relaxing look of this now inviting bathroom with a floating, wood vanity (in the same mcm walnut used throughout the house), modern sinks, a backlit mirror and feminine, brushed gold and cream sconces.

Midcentury Modern Deckhouse
For this project I had the pleasure of walking through the bones of a new build in sunny Alegria Village, Costa Rica, with Pia Infante. We reviewed plans for the entire house and then worked on their kitchen, primary bathroom and powder room. After hearing their goals and meeting with their awesome contractor I created moodboards, sketches and a Design Map to further align their project outcome with their vision. With this roadmap they made their vision of a dream home what they come home to every day.

A Guest Bathroom Cat-astrophe!
This guest bathroom had some questionable design decisions. I wanted this space to feel modern, welcoming and fresh for guests.
For this project I used the existing layout but updated - everything! What was once an odd and unwelcoming commode became a bathroom everyone loves using. I like the play between the traditional, terracotta tile and walnut vanity with the matte black hardware, modern sinks and minimal lines, it gives the space a fresh and sporty feel that is both incredibly handsome and playful.

7 Month Design & Renovation Project
Casi el Cielo sits in the coffee-covered mountains of Atenas, Costa Rica. For this project I did a full renovation of the once dark and cluttered 3 bed, 2 bath primary home and casita, giving this property a fresh, transitional feel that’s both modern and timeless.
One of my favorite aspects of this design was creating archways throughout the home. By neutralizing the home’s color palette, updating the kitchens and bathrooms, and putting in new light fixtures Casi el Cielo has a tranquil, hotel-spa vibe that is welcoming, relaxing, and cohesive.
